I haven’t seen a Libertarian that doesn’t come across as a fucking kook. If you know someone who is a Libertarian and not a fucking kook, let me know.
I’ll try to find some time tomorrow, I hope.
What does that mean?
It mean I need to stop being a twat.
I thought he was saying “sayonara”. I was seeking clarification.
I was unclear, sorry. See my edit.
First of all, there aren’t a whole lot of card carrying Libertarians because some of us (I, for instance) tend to see myself as having Libertarian leanings, but not liking a lot of the high profile people who are actually party members…people like David Koch, Rand Paul, Rupert Murdoch, Glenn Beck, and others.
It almost doesn’t exist as a national party. There are fewer than 200 Libertarians in elected offices across the country, and many of those are on county boards, city councils, library and school boards, and other offices where party affiliation isn’t so important.
The only time I’ve ever voted LP in a presidential race was for Nader. Mostly I’ve voted Green Party in the last several general elections.
I do have ONE surprise, though…Marilyn Chambers, the Ivory Soap Girl turned porn actress.
In the 2004 United States presidential election, Chambers ran for Vice President on the Personal Choice Party ticket, a libertarian political party. In the 2008 United States presidential election, she was again Charles Jay’s running mate, this time as an alternate write-in candidate to his primary national Boston Tea Party running mate Thomas L. Knapp.
Thank you for the run down and the list. Things make a lot more sense now and honestly, no offense was meant by saying I haven’t seen one who wasn’t a kook. Well, it turns out I have seen many but I didn’t know they were Libertarians.
I really appreciate the links and I’m looking forward to reading up more about the party itself.
